On September 9th in early autumn, the inaugural freshmen 2023 of Hertfordshire College arrived at the CIT campus, marking the start of a new stage of their life.
CIT administrative leaders headed by Tang Zhenghua, Jin Xianghong, Cang Yuquan and Gan Fangqun visited the reception site of the College, extending welcome to newcomers and their parents and greeting all staff and volunteers. The establishment of Hertfordshire College marks a new breakthrough in the internationalization of CIT, and CIT will mobilize all the efforts to make the College a distinctive brand of international education cooperation and all of its students innovative and practice-oriented graduates with an international outlook, said Tang.
At Hertfordshire College's reception station was standing an eye-catching theme display board, which goes: "Hertfordshire College, CIT sets sail for the future with you!" It is meant to encourage "new" students to explore the "new" journey bravely in the "new" semester and "new" college. Meanwhile colorful souvenirs and presents were provided for the freshmen: blind boxes, exclusive colas with the college print, customized T-shirts and key chains, specialty photogenic points, and gift package exclusive for the freshmen 2023, which were all saturated with the best wishes and blessings from CIT and UH. Freshmen wrote down their wishes for their college life on the signature wall and took pictures at the photogenic points to record their first day of enrollment.
To intensify family-school communication and educational synergy, the College held a parent-teacher meeting in the lecture hall on the second floor of the administrative building. Dean Wendy Wang introduced the parents to the development of CIT's Sino-foreign cooperative education, the running model of Hertfordshire College, and the shift to collegiate learning mode. Associate Dean Kim Jin set forward 8 suggestions on student development. In the session, the College leaders, including programme (center) heads, answered a series of questions that the parents of the freshmen cared about.
After the parent-teacher meeting, the College leaders, programme leaders and personal tutors went to the freshmen's dormitory to learn more about the freshmen's actualities and how they felt as newcomers. It was their hope that the freshmen could greet their collegiate life with good mentality.
