On the afternoon of November 13, 2023, Hertfordshire College held a mid-term teaching symposium with a view to improving the teaching quality and the teaching management. Associate Deans Kim Jin and Wayne Yao were in attendance at the meeting with student representatives from all classes of the 2023 cohort invited as well.
This teaching symposium is intended to obtain effective teaching feedback, improve the teaching quality and boost students' sense of fulfillment in their academic pursuits at the institution, said Wayne Yao in his brief introductory address.
At the symposium student representatives expressed their opinions and suggestions on language learning, advanced mathematics, general education teaching arrangement, after-class homework and feedback, after-class supplementary readings, teaching methods, etc. Wayne Yao said that such opinions and suggestions would be recorded and communicated to the subsequent teacher symposium for further discussions and exchanges with module teachers.
This symposium served as a better channel of communication between the College and students. It played a positive role in continuously improving the College's teaching management, service capacity and talent training. All these paved a solid way for the advancement of the College's future teaching work.
