Hertfordshire College hosted the second "Face-to-Face with the Dean" event on the afternoon of November 27. In the form of "Dean's Afternoon Tea", the event was centered around the theme of "Learning, Living, and Growth". Associate Dean Kim Jin and Personal Tutor Liu Guotai, along with 16 student representatives, gathered around the table, engaging in candid discussions and heartfelt conversations which ranged from personal development to language acquisition and career exploration. The event went on in a convivial ambiance, with a lively tempo.
While conversing with students, Kim Jin encouraged them to cherish their time for learning and enhance their overall qualities and capabilities, having struggle and pursuit imprinted throughout the prime of their youth. In response to the confusion raised by the student representatives in terms of study and life, he set out four suggestions: to keep open horizons and set up lofty ideals and aspirations; to stabilize your mentality and maintain a positive attitude towards life; to learn time management and make full and efficient use of free time; to persist in reading and constantly intensify language proficiency and fundamental specialty.
It is hoped that all freshmen 2023 will be down-to-earth in learning, make steady and long-term progress, and live a wonderful college life.
